NYCM Insurance and their employees have been involved in fundraising events for many years now and this year we are proud to say was no exception to the rule. Many companies and individuals have had to cut back due to the poor economy, but NYCM Insurance and their employees continued to give even if giving was harder on their budgets.
Our teams consisted of employees, family members and friends. They participated in three events this spring, namely the Autism Walk, the MS Walk, and the Tour De Cure bicycle event for Diabetes. We have employees and family members that deal with these diseases on a daily basis and the commitment to help those in need is a testament to the type of people that work at NYCM Insurance.
The Autism Walk on April 10, 2010 was held at the Glimmerglass State Park in Cooperstown, NY. It was a beautiful spring morning with the sun shining to help heat up the temperatures of the day. The theme was “We Walk for One, We Walk for All,” and the funds raised supports the Kelberman Center in Utica, which is a local support center helping children and families affected by Autism.
The MS Walk on May 2, 2010 was held at the Masonic Care Community in Utica and Neahwa Park in Oneonta. This was a warm sunny spring morning for a lovely walk around the grounds, and monies raised from this event goes towards support services and research that make a huge difference to those that fight Multiple Sclerosis every day of their lives.
The Tour De Cure on June 6, 2010 was held at the Verona Beach State Park in Verona. This is a bicycle ride that can go from 15 miles up to 100 miles around the beautiful State Park and Oneida Lake. It had poured rain in the early morning hours, however that didn’t stop those committed and the sun did come out and shine on each of them. The monies raised will go to the American Diabetes Association.
