Candles

Use sturdy metal, ceramic and glass holders. Extinguish candles when you go to sleep or leave the house. Keep candles away from flammable items. Trim candlewicks to prevent a high flame. Make sure the area above the candle is free of any flammable items. Never set a candle on a combustible surface. Use flashlights instead of candles when the power goes out. Consider using flameless candles, which are fire safe battery powered wax candles.
