Electric Space Heaters

New York Central Mutual recommends not using these units because of the fire safety concerns as well as the risk of personal injury especially to young children. However, if you choose to use them, please review the guidelines below.

Installation & Use

Buy only Underwriters Laboratory (UL) approved heaters.
Purchase space heaters with automatic shut off features
and heat element guards.
Keep a three feet safety zone around the heater.
Do not use extension cords.
Place on a firm and stable surface.
Properly ventilate.
Never leave the heater unattended.
