• Make sure all combustible materials are three feet away.
  
  
• Keep pets and kids away from the heater.
  
  
• Use the proper fuel.
  
  
• Do not over fill the heater.
  
  
• Refill the heater outside after it has cooled.
  
  
• Store the kerosene outside the home in a safe location.
  
  
• Properly ventilate the heater.
  
  
• Turn off the heater when you leave or go to bed.
  
  
• Never leave the heater unattended.
